Editorial Policy

How we approach editorial independence, sourcing, accuracy, and the disclosure of any sponsored or contributed content.

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Editorial independence

Ledgerfolk's core editorial content — our guides, calculators, and category coverage — is researched, written, and edited independently by our editorial team. No financial institution, lender, insurer, or other company is able to purchase a specific editorial conclusion, ranking, or recommendation within our core content.

Sourcing and accuracy

We base our guides on primary sources wherever possible: published rates, regulatory filings, government data, and original calculations using standard, publicly documented formulas. We avoid republishing press releases as original reporting, and we revisit articles when the underlying rates, products, or regulations change materially.

Corrections

If you believe something we've published is inaccurate or outdated, please let us know via our contact page with the specific article and detail in question. We review and correct factual errors promptly once verified.

Contributed and sponsored content

From time to time, Ledgerfolk may publish content contributed by outside authors or organizations, which may include links to a contributor's site or product. Where this occurs:

What we don't publish

We do not publish content that is unsubstantiated, misleading about financial products or outcomes, or written primarily to manipulate search rankings rather than inform readers. We do not accept payment in exchange for a specific factual claim or numerical conclusion within our own original guides.

Author attribution

Articles are attributed to the Ledgerfolk Editorial Team unless an individual contributor is credited directly. Reviewed-for-accuracy notices indicate an additional editorial pass beyond the original drafting.
